Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a three-year professional post-graduate program for candidates wanting to delve deeper into the world of computer application development with the help of learning a modern programming language. The program is a blend of both theoretical and practical knowledge. An MCA degree allows students to work with tools meant to develop better and faster applications. MCA course provides in-depth and extensive knowledge about various aspects of computer applications. Students are taught everything related to software, hardware, and networking with the studies of Computer Applications, Data structures & Mathematics.
Designed to meet the shortage of qualified professionals in the IT (Information Technology) industry, an MCA degree in India is offered by many colleges. Various colleges offer integrated MCA programs as well.
Lots of Job opportunities are available in the field of MCA. Candidates having an MCA degree may have great employment opportunities in top IT companies and top consultancy firms.
At present, with the advancement of IT & Communication systems, people with good computer application skills are highly demanded in the IT sector. MCA qualified students can find jobs easily in the government and private sector.
MCA candidate can start their career as an entry-level trainee programmer. In the beginning, they have to work in different roles and areas. The responsibility of an IT professional is to develop, test, and maintain software/applications.
Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
(a) Candidates shall be admitted to 2 year MCA course on the basis of inter-se- merit in the qualifying examination.
(b)All those candidates who have passed any recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 or at graduation Level. OR Have passed BCA course of minimum three years duration from any recognized University.
(c) Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.
