SVIET aims to encourage research and innovation in Mechanical Engineering and allied areas. The objective of the Diploma Program in Mechanical Engineering is to prepare students to undertake careers involving innovation and problem solving using research techniques and technologies, or to undertake advanced studies for technical education.
The programs are geared toward students who are interested in taking a broad, interdisciplinary approach to their education or have educational needs that can’t be met by the traditional curriculum. These programs might also be of interest to students who want to get their general education requirements out of the way before going on to transfer to a 4-year degree program. These programs take three years to complete, and many are offered online. Applicants must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
There are a lot of opportunities after doing a Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering. Many industries in the automobile and mechanical sector hire diploma students and also offer a good salary. You can also go for higher studies by taking admission directly in the second year B.Tech. course (lateral entry).
After Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, you can go for short term certificate courses like CNC Training, CAD/CAM Training, CATIA, and Uni-graphics, etc. You can even go for a proper B.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. There are post-graduate diploma courses you can do like in Machine Maintenance, Product and Tool Design, Mechanical Safety Engineering, and Applied Mechanics, etc.
In terms of jobs, after completing a mechanical diploma, you can go for junior level posts in the private or government sector. You can try for positions like Technician, Supervisor, Junior Engineer, Clerk, etc. in the government sector.
